Dear NCSH Team,
The 2017-2018 school year has just concluded. As I take a moment to reflect upon the past school year, I’m incredibly proud of the hard work, perseverance, and dedication of the NCSH team and most of all, our scholars.
Although our scholars face many challenges and adversities, NCSH is the highest performing independent charter school in New York State!!! This outcome does not happen by chance. It takes strategic effort, hard work, and focus of the entire school community committed to academic excellence. As a result, our scholars have flourished over the past year and we all have much to celebrate. Some highlights of this year include:
- Academic Highlight: Our scholars across all grades made incredible progress in their reading levels! For example, our kindergarteners grew over 600% in their reading levels!
- Science: 100% of 4th grade scholars passed the NYS Science Exam
- Arts Programming: This year, NCSH launched a Visual Arts Program at the Northwest Campus, and both Performing Arts and Dance at the Central Harlem Campus
- NCSH Basketball Team: 2018 Championship Winners
As summer vacation approaches, I want to personally thank each and every member of the NCSH team. I wish you all a summer vacation filled with family, friends, rest, relaxation, and fun! Take a few moments throughout the summer to reflect upon the previous year and think through strategic changes that will leverage your skillset to enhance scholar achievement.
