“People pay for what they do, and still more for what they have allowed themselves to become. And they pay for it very simply; by the lives they lead.” -James A. Baldwin
Demetris Blunt is a native Harlemite and a dedicated teaching assistant here at the Neighborhood Charter School of Harlem. Demetris attended The City College of Technology in Brooklyn as an architecture student. Working with children of his same background has become his passion and the focus of his career. He looks forward to teaching and challenging the scholars of NCSH everyday and, in turn, has been challenged to give them his very best self. In the future, he hopes to lead his own classroom and invest in his community while applying the experience he’s gained at NCSH. In his spare time, Mr. D., as Demetris is affectionately known by his students and colleagues, enjoys spending time with his daughter and working with children on the Autism Spectrum to build their life skills.
