Francisca L. Aparo

Francisca L. Aparo, Special Projects Manager, is Chicago born and shaped by her public school upbringing in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. Ms. Aparo now considers herself a New Yorker, as she permanently relocated here after earning her degree. She moved to upstate New York in 2013 to study Sociology, Latina/o Studies, and Inequality at Cornell University. During her undergraduate experience, she also engaged in coursework within the S.C. Johnson Graduate School of Management. During this time, Ms. Aparo found her passion for education within Sociology of Education, and sought to mesh her interests with management. She began her career in charter school operations, and now works managing projects that involve the NCS Network and Operations Team. A sociologist at heart, she is fascinated by NYC’s education system and research regarding its function. In her free time, Ms. Aparo enjoys road trips, music, competitive swimming, perfecting her Mexican and Italian heritage recipes, and spending time with loved ones. Ms. Aparo holds a “students first” mindset, and dedicates herself to upholding systems that create a hospitable environment for all.
