Lindsey Hughes has been an educator for over ten years. She has taught multiple subjects across various grades both in traditional schools and charter schools before joining the network team as the Director of Special Education. Her passion for special education and her demonstrated success as a teacher made her a perfect fit for the role of Director of Special Education. Originally from Lexington, Kentucky, Mrs. Hughes earned a bachelor’s degree in Special Education from the University of Kentucky. Mrs. Hughes also received a master’s degree from the University of Louisville in Special Education, with an emphasis in autism spectrum disorders.
Mrs. Hughes is responsible for the educational program and success of all of our students with special needs, supervision of our assistant teachers, and coaching our staff on promising practices for students with special needs. In addition to her work at Neighborhood Charter Schools, Mrs. Hughes enjoys running, exploring New York City, Broadway shows and spending quality time with her Maltipoo, Lucy.
